Piney Hills Classic. The longest-running MTB in the South. The festival takes place in the beautiful Lincoln Parish Park in Ruston, Louisiana in the beautiful piney hills of Northern Louisiana. The race and trail earned the distinguished “NORBA Classic” status over a decade ago. The course includes sweet single-track with epic switchback climbs, technical sections, and sustained descents.

There aren’t too many XC Mountain Bike races in the South. But in its 27th year, tucked into the woods off Hwy 33 in Ruston Louisiana, was the Piney Hills Classic which had another amazing turnout. Photographing the event, which is one of the oldest and largest XC races in the Gulf South was John Emory of seki.media. The race which was the 7th stop in The 2019 Gulf South Regional Mountain Bike Series brought in over 160 riders from 4 different states to Lincoln Parish Park. Racing started at around 9am and wrapped up around 12pm with burgers for riders and music from Dr. Cain Budds as the final groups crossed the finish line.
